Sacrifice. It's probably the one element of parenthood that has the greatest personal impact. Parenting pride comes from the little stolen moments when all those hours of sacrifice pay off and you see your child becoming their own successful person. As part of the POPSUGAR Insights "Find Your Happy" study, we asked moms to tell us what makes them happiest as parents.
Eighty-five percent of women said that their child's overall happiness is what makes them happiest as a parent, following by spending time with their child (78%), having fun with their child (77%), and their child's health (76%). Relatively close in proximity is teaching their children things (74%) and sharing special moments in their child's life (74%). These moments of intimate and important connection trump other achievements like their child doing well in school (68%).
